Meet the team

Our Executive team consists of highly experienced educators and recruitment specialists who have held senior leadership positions at Independent schools and in the corporate sectors, both in Australia and abroad.

James Mundy, MAICD

National Head of Executive

Over the past four years James has led significant executive search appointments. Prior to joining anzuk Education, he spent 22 years teaching and leading in the Independent school sector. As Head of Middle School at Caulfield Grammar School, James led a student body of over 600, overseeing the growth and development of over 100 staff. He was responsible for staff recruitment and leading Department and House Heads to deliver the school’s operational and strategic goals. James remains active in the Independent and Catholic Schools network through involvement in key events and counselling the careers of aspiring and experienced educational leaders.  

Brendan Fraser, GAICD

Senior Executive Recruitment Consultant

Over the past 15 years Brendan has led a significant number of search appointments. He has 25 years of service in Australia, including Acting Director of Xavier College, Burke Halll, Head of Junior School at Caulfield Grammar. Brendan is also previously the chair of the Victorian Deputy Heads Group of IPSHA.

Meg has over 40 years of experience in educational leadership, including 21 years as Principal. She is a  Board Member of Ecumenical Schools Australia 2010-2021, including a period as Chair. Meg also has been the Chair AHISA Victoria and Board Member National AHISA 2019-2021 and is a Board Member Invergowrie Foundation and Former Board Member of Victoria University.

Nigel's 39 year career in schools commenced in Victoria and has included leadership roles in Melbourne, Perth and New Zealand, with the majority of time spent in Queensland. He was a Principal for nearly 25 years, culminating in a very successful time at Blackheath & Thornburgh College retiring at the end of 2019.  Nigel has undertaken post-graduate study throughout his career, with two Masters of Education amongst his qualifications. As a Principal he has worked closely with ISQ (Education Committee) and QCAA (Committee of Principals). Nigel is married to Chris and has three children and four grandsons.

Senior Executive Consultant, Trinity Grammar Headmaster June 2018 – 2019, Carey Baptist Grammar School Principal 2002 – 2010

Phil’s 31-year career in education culminated as Principal of Carey Baptist Grammar School. Prior to this, Phil had been Head of the Senior School at Wesley College, Deputy Principal of Caulfield Grammar and a Director of Wilson Dilworth, a successful financial services company. Phil retired from Carey in 2010; however, he was seconded by the board of Trinity Grammar in June 2018 to lead its school as Headmaster. In 2011 he also served as the interim and inaugural CEO of the prominent Investment House, Evans and Partners. Since 2012, Phil has consulted to several Melbourne independent schools on leadership matters. Married to Rosemary for 49 years, Phil has three sons and seven grandchildren.

Since 2014, Lisa has specialised in recruitment for the Early Childhood industry. She has over 14 years experience in recruitment across a number of different sectors. Using the depth of her expertise and market knowledge she has supported the successful placements of Educators through to Operational and Executive level

Simon Withers

Simon graduated with a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education. After a stint teaching in Northern NSW and London, Simon moved into Education recruitment. During his first four years of recruitment, Simon inspired better education by continuing to teach in the schools he worked with, matching the right educators across London for full time placements. On arrival back to Sydney, Simon pursued a different area of expertise, specialising in sourcing experts in Resources and Energy. One year in, Simon realised his passion was in education and joined anzuk as our NSW State Manager. Simon is a highly regarded leader and exceptional recruitment consultant. Over the past four years he grown his team across the education and early childhood sectors throughout NSW and has had a significant impact on executive and leadership appointments in Independent and Catholic Schools.

Having completed his Bachelor of Education from the University of Sydney, Mitch commenced his teaching career internationally before returning home to move into education recruitment. With over a decade of experience in the field, Mitch joined anzuk Education in 2018 to support regional & rural NSW schools in their own unique recruitment challenges. Holding a Master of Education, hailing from regional NSW and having completed formative schooling in an all-boys Catholic boarding school, Mitch brings a personal background that is able to professionally support regional & rural independent schools.

Rob is an experienced mathematics teacher from the UK and since arriving in Australia in 2013 has spent the last eight years working at anzuk Education. Rob has led teams and his outstanding research and recruitment skills have enabled him to support the unique and varied needs of a vast array of schools and educators

Annie Hooper

Growing up in Sydney, Annie followed the path of many in her family through pursuing a career in education. Initially studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary) at James Cook University in Cairns, Annie soon returned to NSW to begin her teaching career on the South Coast in Wollongong. Gaining experience initially as a relief and contract teacher with department schools, Annie returned to study her Masters in Education (TESOL) at the University of Wollongong the following year. With her Masters opening the door to an opportunity at a British school in Brunei, Borneo, Annie was an infants teacher for some time before relocating to London, where she further broadened her experience in a range of public and private schools. Annie started with anzuk in November 2018. Working in the permanent schools team, Annie has a first hand understanding of the qualities exceptional teachers must possess to meet the needs of the independent schools she works with.

Commencing her career in Catholic Primary Schools in Canberra, Freya travelled to London to teach and soon after moved into education recruitment in the UK. Innate and extensive understanding of regional areas, having attended both Merici College and the Australian Catholic University

Alice has worked for anzuk Education since 2014, starting in our London office. Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, Alice completed her Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing Major (Hons) from the University of Canterbury. Alice joined our Melbourne office in 2018 and currently leads our Australian Marketing team.  

Kerry Glass

Haileybury Rendall School, Caulfield Grammar School, Wesley College

Kerry Glass has recently returned from Darwin where she assisted with the setting up of Haileybury Rendall School. This day and boarding school was set up to provide the top end with an exceptional private school. As the Deputy Principal, Kerry was instrumental in all aspects of establishing this new school including setting the VCE (in the NT) and an enrolment growth from 250 students to 770 in three years and . Prior to this, Kerry was Deputy Head of Campus at Caulfield Grammar School for 15 years, held the position of Head of House for the previous 5 years and was Acting Head of Campus. At Wesley College, Kerry was Head of Mathematics and teaches all levels of Mathematics. Kerry has taught in South Australia, Victoria, the Northern Territory and England in her teaching career. She has a breadth of experience including teaching the VCE, policy development, mentoring, leadership development and pastoral care.
